Try to attain a deep understanding of the opposite point of view. Then, use your hard-pressed and tested intuition to finalize a path forward. Trust yourself.
Whether it's the client, your manager or a teammate, assumptions are made by those who do not have all of the information. Provide the who, what, when, how and why. It's on us to provide as much qualitative and quantitative information as possible to help connect those dots.
The journey from the start of the project to completion is full of purposeful questions that lead you to the end result. Be precise, calculated, and ask questions that get you answers you want or need. Try to connect as many dots as possible so the customer experience wins every time.
Meetings matter. So do the conference call number, meeting location, dress code and a silent phone ringer. Stay ready and mentally available. Get engaged and speak clearly. Commit to the project with passion, your colleagues will thank you for it.
Slow down to speed up. Pick it up, put it down. Look at it, walk away. Build a system that works for you and remain accountable to the deadline. It’s not a race, it’s a marathon.
